Important: Riva Stream is player software only. We do not provide, curate, host, sell, or bundle media, channels, playlists, credentials, or third-party subscriptions. You may use the Service only with media sources you are legally authorised to access.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Riva Stream website, web application, and related services (collectively, the “Service”) operated at www.rivastream.com. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
2. The Service
Riva Stream provides browser-based player software that lets you organise and play your own authorised media sources. Premium subscriptions purchase software features only, such as advert removal, unlimited playlists, guide tools, library saves, and browser-format compatibility. A subscription does not purchase access to media, channels, playlists, or third-party services.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to subscribe to paid plans.
4. Premium subscriptions
Premium is a paid monthly or annual software subscription. We do not offer a free trial. The price, currency, billing interval, applicable taxes and renewal terms are shown at checkout before you confirm payment. Your subscription begins with the initial payment. Free accounts do not require a paid subscription and include only the features offered for free.
Subscriptions are processed by the payment provider shown at checkout and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel through account settings or the payment provider's management page where available. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not create a refund right for the current period except as stated in our Refund Policy.
Stream conversion fair use: Premium includes up to 60 hours of server-side browser-format conversion per account in each UTC calendar month. Only playback processed by Riva Stream's conversion relay counts towards this allowance. Unused hours do not roll over. When an allowance is reached, server-side conversion is unavailable until the next calendar month; other available software features and direct playback are unaffected. We may prevent attempts to evade the allowance, including account sharing or creating multiple accounts.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to access, store, or distribute content without proper rights or licences;
- Circumvent technical limits, security measures, or licensing restrictions;
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service;
- Use the Service while driving or in any situation where video playback may create a safety risk.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law. We apply a repeat-infringer policy and may terminate accounts of users who repeatedly or materially infringe intellectual-property rights.
6. Third-party content and services
Your playlists, media providers, payment processors (including Stripe and PayPal), and other third-party services are not controlled by Riva Stream. We do not verify, recommend, or sell third-party media providers, and are not responsible for third-party content, availability, pricing, permissions, or policies.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including software, branding, and design, is owned by Riva Stream or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted playback, compatibility with every device or browser, or accuracy of programme guide data supplied by third parties.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Riva Stream and its operators shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or GBP £50 if you have not paid us, whichever is greater.
10. Copyright complaints
Rights holders may send a copyright or intellectual-property complaint to support@rivastream.com. Please include your contact details, the work claimed to be infringed, the relevant URL or account information, a good-faith statement, and a statement that the information is accurate and you are authorised to act. Our Copyright & IP Complaint Policy explains the process.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data, including cookies.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country give you the right to bring claims in your local courts.
